"Hannah Upp, 23, was filmed by a surveillance camera shopping near Fifth Avenue and 59th Street at 9:15 a.m," Messing reports.

Sep 09, 08 - 10:10 am Comment from: lol?

A 23 year-old person doesn't go missing, she takes a vacation, without telling people... Besides - if she has time to check her e-mail, what is the problem then?..

Sep 09, 08 - 10:11 am Comment from: Pete

What do you mean she is not being held against her will. She is in an Apple store. I see lawsuits coming.

looks like time flies when you are in an apple store.... Did she knew she was reported missing?

Sep 09, 08 - 10:18 am Comment from: jtc

I'm surprised with the way Fox is... that they didn't announce something like, "Woman missing, your life may be in danger!!!, tune in at 9 to learn how you can be safe!!"

Sep 09, 08 - 10:20 am Comment from: Jeremy

What a useless article. It doesn't say anything about her, or how they know she's "missing" as opposed to just not wanting to talk to anyone. It doesn't say how the heck anyone knew to check the cameras or who was watching the cameras that recognised her. On top of that, if she is "checking her email" then she isn't an amnesiac, and since she's smiling and well-groomed she is not kidnapped or strung out on crack etc. etc. etc. Not only a total non-story, it's not even reported correctly or with enough detail to give anyone any idea what's going on. Think of all the truly missing people and children of the world who have met a bad end, yet the NYC cops are forced to waste their time looking for this upper-middle class twit.

Weird. It's not Apple, Mac, or iPod news. It's runaway teacher news.

She's been hyp-mo-tized by the reality distortion field

I like the wording of the bit about her not being held against her will. I would have thought the fact that a person was in a shop checking email would have almost implied it. If they are being held, are Apple being implicated?

Sep 09, 08 - 10:41 am Comment from: Demon

Is it a crime for someone over 18 years of age to get tired of everyone and just stop contacting them. Move and change jobs so, the pests stop bugging the person.

I don't think so. I do think the person could even have a claim of police stocking and harassment if that continue to pursue and track the persons.

"Upp disappeared on Aug. 29. Concerned friends have posted flyers with her picture in Times Square after she used an ATM card in a movie theater near there."

Doesn't sound like a missing person to me, sounds like someone who just wants time away from the family and the BS going on.

Leave her alone. She was just rebooting her Vista PC. However, she has learned her lesson, hence the visit to the Apple store.

Maybe she's stalking Steve (Jobs, not Ballmer)?

"Why is this news on an Apple site?"

An Apple a day keeps the teacher away.
