Walt Disney Co. has announced that its “Radio Disney” is now available through Apple Computer’s iTunes’ Radio Tuner.
Disney said the “tween”-oriented channel is now available in a 24-hour streaming live broadcast.

Actually, I think somebody is confused.
Yes, it is available under the “Radio” source in iTunes, but there’s also a “Radio Disney” section on iTunes Music Store that lists 51 podcasts.
I fail to see the significance of this being added to the Radio source.
I think this is an underused part of iTunes, or at least a feature that could be really fleshed out to make iTunes and even stronger part of the whole equation.
How hard would it be to offer Sirius content for a fee per month? I’d sign up today if I could get that without having to buy hardware.
Actually, since Radio Disney operates primarily on AM radio stations, 48kbps is about right.
And, yeah, the iTunes Radio service doesn’t get enough play. I use it a lot. My favorite stations are Virgin Radio and Japan-a-Radio.
Why not add XM & Sirius content to iTunes through a subscription paid via iTMS cards/accounts? Good for XM & Sirius, good for Apple, good for end users.

I agree, I would have liked to see a hire bit rate for this. It would help make up for having the radio station only on A.M. in Los Angeles and therefore not playable on F.M. only equipped iPods.
BTW – I took my girls to the Radio Disney 10th anniversary bash at the Arrow Pond in Anaheim last month. Had a good time, having kids is fun. . . sometimes.

Radio is the most lazily implemented feature in iTunes – Apple should really do something with it. Maybe buy Pandora.
