"Ready. Set. Shop," Apple's online Apple Store Website reads. Last year's, Apple's Black Friday event was headlined "Joy to the Wallet." In 2005, it was "The Feast After the Feast."

Last year, Apple's offers included, $101 off MacBooks and iMacs, software discounts, $41 off Airport Extreme Base Station, up to $101.95 off select Shure earphones, $31 off iPod, and many more special deals. Apple typically keeps the details of the offers secret until the 24th.

Don't miss our special one-day shopping event on Friday, November 23rd.

It IS special if you happen to be buying one that day. And no, typically Apple offers you a choice, the Edu discount OR the special offer, not both.

Apple should throw in an Elgato hybrid with any computer sale to publicize the fact that this gadget turns the computer into a tv set ...macsales sells them for $135 or so...maybe for $35 on Black Friday, and add them as an option on the on line store. I believe this could accelerate computer sales dramatically, at no cost to Apple. After all, why buy a tv set if your 24" iMac can do the job...my new 2.8 Ghz has an Elgato attached, and tv (I have analog input) works very well indeed.

Well $100 of of the price in Canada is nothing special it just brings us to the price it should be in the first place $1199.00 same as in the US now if we get it for $100 of the US price I'm in.

Although any (reasonable) discount is appreciated in Canada, seeing as how base prices are STILL not equivalent, the discount on products had better be more than the US one (e.g. if $101 off a Macbook in the US, it had better be $125 or more for the Canadian one). This is what happened last year, and I got my Macbook then.

Just look at the difference on the Mac Pros: start at $2499 US, but $2799 CAD!
