I have a feeling this story is BS. I think Apple would have secured plenty of these screens before they started production.

Unless demand was higher than they expected... and with the rollouts of the iPhone in the UK, France, and Germany upcoming combined with US iPhone sales and worldwide iPod touch sales, considering they all use the same screen I wouldn't be surprised if there are shortages.

Glad I got mine right away... it's friggin' awesome.

Glad I got mine too, although I seem to have quite a bit of 'screen lag' every now and again. Anyone else have this problem?

Never noticed any real lag on mine, but sometimes it does get stuck on coverflow mode right after I take it out of my pocket even though I'm holding it upright. Seems to be worse when I'm walking.

Hmmm... might this be the reason that iPhone sales are being limited? You remember that "consumer hostile" action that prevents speculators from reading stories like this, clearing out Apple's inventory, and putting them up for auction on ebay?

Now when does the class action suit commence?

The good news is if the rumour on shortages is true, the products are selling like hotcakes. Pessimists see the glass as half empty, and this is exactly the kind of news that signals a buy.
More people would if the stock split so a board lot of 100 shares would be half price.
Anyway who needs a touch when they have a Mac laptop, esp. the 12" model that can be carried in a small purse?
