Since not everyone sits around studying intel roadmaps and coming up with conjecture, I guess some people might need it. But I agree that this one seems pretty obvious- been said before many times. Still, good to see confirmation from Think Secret, since they have a better track record than most.

I just hope that they release a median model "PowerMac" that doesn't cost a fortune.

I really wish they where using Opterons.

Why? I have never had anything against PC hardware (aside from lack of style). It's the OS and half assed apps that ticks me off. What's wrong with Intel?

Other than the MMX and 90 MHz Intel, the problem with Intel is only the fact that "if you hang around dogs, you'll get fleas".

Intel has been always identified with Windows, and because of that, receiving the Windows reputation, for example: "Intel machines and viruses", "Intel is unstable", etc.

The main gap between Intel and PowerPC was the architecture: RISC. RISC was way more efficient than CISC (Intel), but through the years, that gap was getting narrower and narrower.

The main difference is the OS. You put UNIX on Intel, and you have a solid-rock environment. Mac OS X is no exception.

A "solid-rock" environment doesn't sound very comfortable to me; on the other hand, a "rock solid" environment is wonderful.

I hope this won't be like the Powermac G5 launch (and other notable launches) where you had to wait several months after the announcement for the machines to actually appear.

Still, good to see confirmation from Think Secret, since they have a better track record than most.

Well, considering that the track record of most rumour sites is abysmal, saying that Think Secret is relatively reliable isn't saying much. Truthfully, though, I don't really read ThinkSecret much- I just remember seeing them get a few predictions right recently.

I'd like the new Mac Pro computers to also have the Xeon processors in them. Seems to me that they are better than the ones for the Mac Pro.
