Report: Hon Hai secures order for Apple’s next-gen iPhone
Friday, March 28, 2008 - 11:39 AM EST "Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. has secured an exclusive contract to assemble a more advanced version of Apple Inc.'s popular iPhone, a person familiar with the situation told Dow Jones Newswires Friday," Wei Yi Lim reports for Dow Jones Newswires."The person, who declined to be named, said Hon Hai would be producing next- generation iPhones for Apple and is the exclusive contract manufacturer for the new phones," Lim reports.
"A Hon Hai official, who declined to be named, told Dow Jones Newswires that the company was in talks with Apple for the supply of a 'more advanced version' of the current iPhone. The Hon Hai official declined to provide further details," Lim reports. "Apple spokeswoman Jill Tan declined to comment."
