Many more countries to come. On February 26, Apple will announce a long list of them. iPhone is expanding like an erection.

Feb 12, 08 - 10:49 am Comment from: Ampar

I guess this means that iPhones will soon be hosin' the leader.

Another 10,000 in sales...

Can you just buy an Auzzie iPhone and use it on the T-mobile network in the US?

Feb 12, 08 - 11:00 am Comment from: Mac+

@bon,

Auzzie stands for Australia, not Austria.

Feb 12, 08 - 11:02 am Comment from: Predrag

No. Neither can you buy a German T-Mobile phone and use it on T-Mobile in the US (except while roaming, of course, but that you can do with any iPhone in any country, as long as you pay the exorbitant roaming charges).

If you're so desperate to use T-Mobile in the US, you'll have to bite the bullet and unlock.

Feb 12, 08 - 11:02 am Comment from: echo416

Bon:

I'm pretty sure the iPhone has not been officially released in Australia... yet. So, chances are if you bought an iPhone Down Under, then it would be unlocked and then yes, you would be able to use it on T-Mobile network in the US.

Feb 12, 08 - 11:03 am Comment from: Predrag

Didn't Aussie stand for Australia?

Feb 12, 08 - 11:06 am Comment from: Predrag

Is there a reason why people continue to bring up Australia? This is almost beginning to sound like a scene from "Dumb & Dumber"...

Feb 12, 08 - 11:08 am Comment from: bon

Dumb and Dumber reference...

"Throw another shrimp on the barby!"

Feb 12, 08 - 11:09 am Comment from: bon

I should have put Auzzie in <sarcasm> brackets.

Feb 12, 08 - 03:04 pm Comment from: byronic

they don't teach geography in the US any more do they...

Austria - a landlocked, central European country, bordering The Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland.

Australia - an island continent south of Indonesia on the other side of the Pacific Ocean...

Americans are becoming like their tv - too much airtime, not enough content...

Feb 12, 08 - 03:23 pm Comment from: Canuck Needsaniphone

oh great.... _another_ country getting the iPhone, with still no sign of it appearing in Canada (aside from the oodles of unlocked blackmarket ones I see everywhere around town)

and Austria has what, a quarter of Canada's population?

sigh... (darn you Rogers Wireless! your ~7M wireless subscribers are waiting!)

Feb 12, 08 - 03:26 pm Comment from: Uncle Al

Took a visit to Austria last year. They have cool signs around with a slash through a picture of a kangaroo, and the words, "No Kangaroos". I guess lots of ugly Americans make that mistake over there.

(Never did find the outback)

Feb 12, 08 - 03:29 pm Comment from: Uncle Al

Correction: Just did a search on No kangaroos in Austria and the signs actually say, "No kangaroos in Austria".

i bin gleich då!

At this rate, Bosnia will get the iPhone before Canada! Lol! grin

Feb 13, 08 - 11:09 am Comment from: Ampar

"At this rate, Bosnia will get the iPhone before Canada!"

And East Timor, Little America and the International Space Station.

Rogers that?

Feb 13, 08 - 05:37 pm Comment from: Spock

Customers of Rogers should boycott Rogers' other services, such as internet, or per-per-view movie channels, etc., and not upgrade their cellphone plans until Rogers smartens up. We must affect their bottom line to make them listen.

Rogers shareholders should begin raising the question of why even tiny Austria is getting this phone before Canada at every opportunity.
