Report: T-Mobile to debut Apple iPhone in Austria on Friday
Wednesday, March 12, 2008 - 01:17 PM EST

Apple's iPhone will be introduced to the Austrian market by Deutsche Telekom AG's T-Mobile International AG's Austrian subsidiary T-Mobile Austria GmbH on Friday, according to a report via the web edition of Austrian newspaper Der Standard which cites "company and industry sources," Flemming E. Hansen reports for Dow Jones Newswires.

Hansen reports, "T-Mobile Austria will offer two different models, one with an 8 gigabyte internal memory card for EUR399, and one with 16 gigabytes for EUR499, Der Standard reports. Customers will be tied to their subscriptions for a two year period, and the minimum subscription fee will be of between EUR50 and EUR60 a month, the newspaper writes."

MacDailyNews Take: Wouldn't there be at least some mention of this by Apple and/or T-Mobile Austria if iPhone is to debut there in two days?

Lady at bus stop: Let's not.

Austria and australia are way different. You are confusing the two.

There are NO kangaroos in Austria.

Mar 12, 08 - 01:30 pm Comment from: Ampar

To @ampar:

WHAT? No way. I looked it up. Austria and Australia are actually joined by a massive land bridge. And there's a short hop over some water. But they also have a secret tunnel joining the two countries. Sneaky bastards. Watch them.

I've been told that Austria and Australia have closer than normal relations because of the common confusion over their names. It is supposedly something of an inside joke among their diplomatic corps around the world. Also their postal services.

WTF?!
What about Canada?

Mar 12, 08 - 02:50 pm Comment from: Wish I Was Here

Hmmmmm, I see not EVERYBODY here is a Dumb & Dumber fan. Very nice, Ampar.....

@ chesspiece

There are no lederhosens in Australia either.

But Ampar is correct. The two countries broke apart in early prehistoric times. Apparently the kangaroo and lederhosens evolved from a common ancestor who could jump and slap their legs at the same time.

"There are no lederhosens in Australia either."

Not in public.

Canadians: It's time to boycott Rogers!

Do not purchase additional services from them.
Do not sign up for new contracts; stay month-to-month.
Do not buy anything on Rogers on Demand!
Do not switch your land phone to Rogers Home Phone!
Do not switch your internet to Rogers! (Besides, they cramp encrypted packets - bad if you vpn or p2p)

Every time you get a letter or email from Rogers, call them and say "I do not want to receive any promotional materials from Rogers unless you are writing to tell me that Rogers is releasing the iPhone with rates similar to that offered in other countries!
If they phone you, say the same thing and keep them on the phone for ages so you will waste their time.

Rogers will only listen to one thing - a boycott.

Hmm... is that Vienna calling?

Peace.
