I don't even need another computer, don't know what it will be... but I want one. Sounds like they have a good business model going right now.

... also first!!

Apr 24, 08 - 02:34 pm Comment from: Krus

I've never even heard of that site...

Apr 24, 08 - 02:34 pm Comment from: huy yet

New Macbooks!

Apr 24, 08 - 02:46 pm Comment from: anaknipedro

As always, I'll believe it when I see it.

Apr 24, 08 - 02:49 pm Comment from: shaun

We had MacBook bumps only about 6 weeks ago, so I can't see any design changes on the horizon

Apr 24, 08 - 02:50 pm Comment from: Mac+

This doesn't deserve an article!!! Unless they release a 15 inches model sold for $799 and a 17 inches for $999... think about the impact on the worlwide Mac sales.

Apr 24, 08 - 02:50 pm Comment from: Fan

@Mac Fanatic

Couldn't agree more. These PC fanboys just don't understand that we like paying twice as much for our Macs than more powerful PCs. Who wants an "ugly" PC on their desk when for $500 more I can have a "Delicious" and "Sexy" and "Just Gorgeous" Mac...

Us Mac users are much more intelligent. We know what REALLY Matters!!!!

Apr 24, 08 - 02:51 pm Comment from: No more windoze woes

"This site is full of loser mac fans!"

Yep, I LOST my frikin patience with the beast of Redmond and now I'm a MAC FAN

Apr 24, 08 - 02:54 pm Comment from: krautpastry

I never have liked the all in one solution, I'd like a tower or even a cube! with dual monitor support and the ability to use a less expensive monitor(s) than Apple's aging line. It's the missing piece of the apple. A Mac Pro would be using a shotgun to go fishing for me, even though they kick ass. A Mini is under powered. I know this has been written before, but that's what I need.

Apr 24, 08 - 02:55 pm Comment from: Mac+

@ Fan,

Apple could really afford having us paying just 1.5 more than the average consumer, and deliver quality. Twice as much, is way too much. They only do it, because they know some people will line up to buy their products anyway. This starts to look like an insult to the consumers. I trully think Apple could come up with an innovative and decent overall solution for $799.

Apr 24, 08 - 02:56 pm Comment from: Mr. Reeee

Speed bumpzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Apr 24, 08 - 02:56 pm Comment from: Twenty Benson

MATTE SCREENS ??!?

mw: 'theres' eeeerrrrrmmmmmmm......
theres nothin' wrong in hopin'.

Apr 24, 08 - 02:57 pm Comment from: Mac+

@ krautpastry,

I totally agree with you... and even go further: The mini is an absolute joke!!! The missing piece of Apple is a complete solution for $799.

Apr 24, 08 - 02:58 pm Comment from: 84 Mac Guy

How is an iMac with a speed bump and bigger hard disk a "new iMac?"

Must be a slow rumors day.

Apr 24, 08 - 03:00 pm Comment from: Mr. Reeee

krautpastry… Germknödel, vielleicht?

Yeah, lots of us have been screaming for a mid-sized PRO-level pizza-box/mini-tower/cubische Mac for quite some time.

We KNOW it will be popular, but tell that to Cupertino.
I'll buy TWO!

Apr 24, 08 - 03:01 pm Comment from: Fan

@Mac+

Agree with you 100%.. A xMac for $799 with monitor, KB, and mouse would be a large hit...

Apr 24, 08 - 03:06 pm Comment from: Mac+

@ Fan ,

Yep, you said it!!! That what the Mac Mini should have been... if Cupertino was really thinking of us. In a different industry, even Mercedes and Volkswagen have lines of "low cost" high quality models.

"@bobo

there are some people who drive ford focus's and some people who drive bmw's... Guess which one you drive"

This is the typical Mac Fanboy nonsense. Macs and PC are almost identical inside. Yet you morons have yourselves convinced that "Apple can't make junk".... Well neither can anyone else. The problem with PCs is Windows, Period..

Unless you believe that Intel, ATI, and nVidia only sells the "good stuff" to Apple and ships their junk to Dell......

Let's face it, you Mac Morons like Apple's non expandable systems because most of you wouldn't know a video card from a ROM chip. You have idea what's inside a Mac. You only believe what "Steve Says" and Personally, I could care less what my desktop PC "Looks" like. It's going to SIT there. If you feel proud to pay an extra $500 for an underpowered, non-expandable but "DELICIOUS" computer, you have more money than brains..

Apr 24, 08 - 03:29 pm Comment from: Hm...

My, the trolls are feisty today. Must be a slow day on the Windoze fanbois sites.

Apr 24, 08 - 03:33 pm Comment from: Steve

Have they resolved the 20" display issues on the iMacs? Actually, I never noticed a problem, but there were a few lawsuits. Anyone know?

Apr 24, 08 - 03:43 pm Comment from: bobo

@Fan, guess you drive a focus too... Oh ya, and G5's are totally not expandable, give me a break... They may have some of the same components inside, but when the same company makes the hardware and the OS 99% of the bullshit problems go away... Have fun installing drivers over and over loser raspberry

Apr 24, 08 - 03:45 pm Comment from: Bolleke

Just sold my 2,5 year old iMac Core Duo for 700€ (common second hand market price in Europe - check out http://www.mac2sell.net/ ), thus, it means I can upgrade from a 17" to a new 20" adding about 500€ which is a bargain for a new up to date iMac every 2,5 years. I know this leaves you with a first investment of 700€, but imagine selling a 2,5 year PC box for that price, very unlikely.

Apr 24, 08 - 03:47 pm Comment from: Ampar

"Macs and PC are almost identical inside."

Speaking of inside, you're full of shit.

Apr 24, 08 - 03:50 pm Comment from: JAYGEE

I have always wondered where Apple will go with the design of the iMacs, as they can make them thinner and faster, but design wise, hmm, I dunno what they will do next.

Apr 24, 08 - 03:53 pm Comment from: Jubei

The TROLL call was sent out today worldwide. The emergency FUD button was pressed when Apple financials blew away expectations.

Zune Tongued In The Butt and his cohorts collectively sat on the Big Ass Table prototype with the Big Ass Red Virtual Button called FUD ALERT and sat on it! wink

Apr 24, 08 - 03:57 pm Comment from: Pete

I'm waiting on the version with a multi-touch keyboard. Seems reasonable that this would be in the line up at some point in the future. Basically same keyboard extended out in front to accommodate a touch pad.

Apr 24, 08 - 04:02 pm Comment from: Eric24601

Great! And I just bought a 24-inch 2.4 GHz iMac Yesterday!

Apr 24, 08 - 04:03 pm Comment from: Dialtone

We have 8 macs here -- all shapes and sizes -- but everyone digs the iMac24 the most. It's fast, quiet, beautiful....

Apr 24, 08 - 04:04 pm Comment from: Tommy Boy

Now if they'd only update the friggin Cinema Displays.

Apr 24, 08 - 04:06 pm Comment from: Thorin

Please Apple, put a fast GPU in the iMac. Please!

", I could care less what my desktop PC "Looks" like. It's going to SIT there"

Yes, running that POS called Windows.

Apr 24, 08 - 04:18 pm Comment from: MizuInOz

@ Fan

Your response is fairly typical of a PC (stands for "piece of crap"). You know you are right about intel, ATO and nVidia. Absolutely good components.. but have you every tired to plug those things in without a motherboard or power supply or HD, etc? Kinda sucks.

Most (not all) PCs are built by the lowest bidder with the lowest priced components and that can have a few problems - on occasion.

"Almost identical inside" is the real rub. That small difference can mean the difference between PB failure because of a bad Power Supply or not. But with a 90 day warranty, what's to worry. Your systems is so cheap (not necessarily inexpensive) you can buy three while my 3 year warranty keeps me hummin! And if I have a crapped out system - Apple replaces it - WITH A NEW CURRENT SYSTEM - not a POS from yester year!

Will Dell or HP do that for you without a class action suit. And you better hurry with your Dell -looks like they may be closing up shop.

Let's see, I have a pretty "stock" machine - 7 TBytes of HD (4 external), Dual Quad 3.2 Ghz processors, 16 Gigs of RAM, 2 30" monitors and a whole bunch of other stuff I do not even need to mention because you may not understand because it is Mac Stuff.

Does Apple make junk? Well, let's see. I have had Apple products since 1983 - yep - long time. I have also had everything from an 8088 to the latest PCs today. And I can say by far apple products for the most part have served me well.

My curiosity is if you are such a PC Fan Beotch and love Monkey Boy and his PC BS so much why are you hanging out here? This IS an APPLE dedicated website. Sounds like OS envy to me.

In all of this we haven't even mentioned VISTA... hmmm.

If you can't afford to by Apple products and wish you could, there are second hand products you can start with. And they even look good.

Apr 24, 08 - 04:18 pm Comment from: Fan

Goodie for you.

Apr 24, 08 - 04:23 pm Comment from: @fan

"Hey, 2.4% of the world agrees with you. Everyone's wrong and you're right!!!"

So, how's groupthink working for you? Such a low self-esteem that you have to rely on "everyone else's" action?

How typical and pathetic. Automaton loser.

Apr 24, 08 - 04:29 pm Comment from: bobo

@ Fan
The world is changing, I'm a sys admin we have about 300 macs and 50 pcs, I spend more time dealing with the pc's. Once more IT managers figure this out, there will be a shift.

Apr 24, 08 - 04:45 pm Comment from: Pistol

Honestly, who cares about the iMac? For god sake update the Mac mini or release the "x" Mac Apple.

Apr 24, 08 - 04:56 pm Comment from: Roberto

As Yogi says, I'll believe it when I believe it.

Great - a new computer for Adobe CS3 to crash all over...

Apr 24, 08 - 05:20 pm Comment from: Splat

@Fan

Gosh I love it when POS users equate Volume with Quality! Let me see...if they sell the most they must be the best. I am pretty sure I'd rather have a Porsche 911 over a Geo Metro but I bet there are more Geo Metros on the road than 911's.

Yo....wanker.....VOLUME does not equate to QUALITY

Apr 24, 08 - 05:23 pm Comment from: mark

mac mini pleeeeeease!

it's been ages, and i need a new one ...

Apr 24, 08 - 05:33 pm Comment from: Rainer

OK, the source may be BS.
But AAPL has been pumping out refurb iMacs like mad over the last couple of weeks - and a big dealer here (we don't have "official" Stores in this country) has started to offer "special deals", which usually is a good sign that the shelves have to be cleared and something new is on the horizon).
I'll have to see if the speed or feature increase is worth the money - else I might go with a previous generation refurb.
A MacMini with 4 GB RAM and ATI card all soldered together a la MBA would also be OK - I already have a big screen.
wink
