why is it that whenever we get a "spy photo" its usually just one corner of the object being photographed? is it really THAT HARD to zoom out a little bit and take in the whole thing???

Because the photo only shows a small area I say it's a total fake.

Anyone can take apart their macbook and take a blured photo of one of the components.

It amazes me how hard it is these days for people to take a photo, you would have thought with all the advanced digital technology and image stabilisation software used as standard in cameras - invluding budget ones (and even in mobile phones!) that even a 2 year old coluld take a photo that isnt blurred.

Because of this I say its TOTALLY FAKE.

I have a MacBook Pro and I don't care about a change to mini DVI or Firewire ports. I want to know the CPU / GPU and bus speeds. With a 7200 hard disk I can virtualize Windows XP just fine for Software Development.

Whether you're snapping photos of Loch Ness or a new Mac those things are fast as heck love shadows. You can never get a good shot with decent lighting. Even if you do, the film will end up ruined and blur the evidence. :sigh:

Ahaa, now we know what the new secret way of building a notebook is. There is no cover and no frame, it's all one piece and probably takes just 30 sec to assemble.

So far nothing from Apple. I think I will be keeping my old Windoze notebook for quite a while longer. No problem. It works well.

...both the FireWire 400 port and 28-pin DVI-I (Dual Link) port both appeared to be missing on the next-generation MacBook Pro, with the latter being replaced with what appeared to be a mini-DVI port

YIKES! Apple is going CHEAP on their "PRO" line!

Heck I can get a cheap PC for under a grand to do the same thing. I buy a MacBook Pro for the PERFORMANCE! Give me FIREWIRE 800 iPODS!!

Apple looks like they are slowly locking their machines down. It's a real shame.

$800 MAC? Keep dreaming, MAC sheep. The $800 price point is for a second battery. Problem is the battery can't be replaced just like the dopey I-Phone battery can't be replaced. MAC is a ripoff. I can build a Windows machine any way I want for less than half the price of a proprietary toy MAC. Dorks.

My observation has to do with proportions.

First, on the small laptop metal top, look at how deep it is vs. how wide. So they are NOT going with the wide orientation like all previous recent Macs, but instead making it look like a 12" Mac (Yay! Especially if the resolution is fine enough.)

Also, based on the size of the holes on the USB holes on the sides, it is fairly THIN! The video plug is virtually the full width of the side.

Compare that to the MacBook I'm typing this on. There is 1/8"+ of plastic above and below the mini-video jack. And that plastic at the top has to be fairly weak. So going to this aluminum block style allows them to cut out the full width of the side for the jack and not loose any strength.

Last comment. It seems to me that a solid aluminum body would allow much better heat dissipation, which is much of why they can't make laptops smaller . . .

Um, based on that photo, I'd say this is legit. It appears to be milled from aluminum, not pressed from a sheet.... as evidenced by the thickness visible in the keyboard cutouts.

Now, bring on the tablet, and I'm golden!!!
