Question: Where are Paul, Ringo, and John's son going to be next week? Shall Steve actually reunite the beatles for a performance?

After using an iPhone for 2 months, I would not find an iPod without some sort of network connectivity beyond syncing to be very useful. If it had at least 802.11n to connect to my music and movie collections at home, that would be nice.

since a while there are no ipods in switzerland anymore in the shops nor at the major online store - guess a bullet proofed sign for new iPods

I'm hoping for a 500 Gig iPod with mind control abilities and a death ray...oh and it would be operated by mult-touch too!

Let's face it, that iPod is a fad, which can only be helped by Microsoft's trusted and proven expertise. A music-player does not sell. Granted, Apple has given the attempt to watch video and pictures, but Microsoft will bring the most important innovation, Microsoft's wireless Squirting(tm), to the iPod.
The new device will sport a new palette of colors, adding to the rich dog-squeeze brown a baby-squeeze yellow and cat-hurk green. There will be no touch screen, but a keyboard on the back of the device.

And this is only the beginning. The new merger will absolve Mr Jobs from any unnecessary (translate: all) functions and he will be replaced thusly with Steve Ballmer, adding years of successful marketing skills and visionaries to the struggling competitor.

The new Microsoft sub-devision will be called CRAPPLE

Good thing Apple has something new. Creative is running out of cash fast and needs an excuse for a new lawsuit.

My video iPod just died yesterday, a coincidence? I think not! All iPods already have wireless connectivity, only it's for Apple to kill your iPod just before the launch of a new one. Keep your iPod away from all transmitting objects, microwaves, mobile phones and telepathic people (they all work for Apple you know).

Of course due to the "Reality Distortion Field" I will be compelled to buy a new one.

Great timing, my video iPod (30gb) just got stolen out of my car yesterday!!

I left it unlocked for two days in a row, yesterday , finally even left the windows down, hit pay dirt!

Yes. Before George died, they were talking about reforming with John's son. Then George died. They appeared together with Yoko and George's wife for the opening of "LOVE" although they just took photos together.

You never know. Steve might end the show with at least Paul and/or Ringo playing. They might ask John's son to join in... long shot, but maybe. I'd put odds on Paul showing up and performing. Performing with Ringo would be great. Performing with John's son while Ringo is sitting behind a drum set with "The Beatles" logo = reunion performance... even though it's just two of them now.

hopefully they make a shift to 4 kinds of pods:

Shuffle - similar to current one
Nano - similar to current one, maybe shorter
Mini - aka the new fat nano, flash based video playing pod
Touch - iphone with harddrive, minus the phone

... the much needed upgrade to the iPod HiFi.

Secondly, don't be surprized to see Apple dive into the market that Bose has dominated - the noise cancelling headset business.

Apple has tables of those headsets with MASSIVE amounts of gross profits going to Bose as a result... Apple has the in-house abilities to deliver a compelling option as good as Bose, thus raking in that lucrative dollar amount to the mothership instead...

It looks like a thick iPhone with a big lens and a hard drive. But it can upload your videos to You-Tube while you are still on vacation. Figure this would cost about $999, and since it isn't a "phone" it isn't covered by the At&t;exclusive agreement...

the hight of the talk of reforming with John's son, Julian, was when the Beatles anthology came out. I can't remember why exactly they didn't. I think it had something to do with someone not getting along with Ringo at the time but am not sure. I know my fingers were crossed at the time but I highly doubt more than one of the two Beatles performing at this event if any at all.
