"Apple will launch movie and TV download services in Europe this spring, according to a Luxembourg statesman," Jonny Evans reports for Macworld UK.

Evans reports, "Luxembourg's economy minister Jeannot Krecke made the claim in local media yesterday: 'Apple is going to extend its electronic retail activities in Luxembourg by launching this coming spring its iTunes video platform for the sale of videos in Europe,' he said."

Evans reports, "He claimed Apple to have been in discussion with local authorities in Luxembourg over setting the service up for 'several months.' The company will offer 'full-length television show downloads,' he said."

As Jobs said in the context of the iPhone, let people in public service know and they will tell.

They have no clue.

Equivalent to American prices, or rip-off European prices as usual ?

Jan 31, 07 - 12:03 pm Comment from: DJ

Be nice to see some US series like Galactica and The Office (which I prefer to the UK original) but I guess we'll just have stuff limited to whatever the networks feel like doling out.

Pity if so. Great if not.

ps. There are a few non-socialist Euros out there...

Once again Canada Bends over and gets it up the shaft because we only have 30 Million people. But thats ok, Canada would rather download for free.

Jan 31, 07 - 01:30 pm Comment from: Ontario

In Canada it has nothing to do with our population. It is an organization we have called CANCON (Canadian Content) that controls our media. There is very little effort and cost involved for Apple to provide tv and movies to Canada. The infrastructure is already there. Our government will not allow it. Complain to CANCON.

About fucking time. Finland will be left out. As usual.

P.S. does anyone know. If you fly to San Francisco and you won't be able to pay the flight back, will US Government pay your ticket while they deport you. Just asking (in case that shit hits the fan)...
